Kierukkavaihdepuristin Gardena 7196

The Gardena 7196 screw (worm gear) clamp is a durable metal hose clamp designed for secure fastening of hoses, pipes and fittings in garden and irrigation systems. Constructed from zinc-plated steel, the clamp resists corrosion and provides consistent clamping force to prevent leaks and maintain reliable water flow. With an adjustable diameter range up to 9 cm, this screw clamp suits a variety of hose and pipe sizes and allows straightforward installation and re-adjustment when needed.

Advantages

The zinc-plated steel construction offers enhanced resistance to weathering and moisture compared with untreated metal, extending service life in outdoor conditions. The worm gear screw mechanism provides precise, incremental tightening for a firm, even seal around hose or pipe surfaces. Its simple design enables quick fitting with commonly available tools, and the clamp’s smooth band reduces the risk of cutting or damaging flexible hose material during installation.

Suitable for

• Securing garden hoses to connectors, nozzles and pumps
• Fixing irrigation tubing and fittings in domestic drip and sprinkler systems
• Temporary or permanent joins of flexible pipes in outdoor water installations
• General home and repair tasks that require adjustable metal clamps

Key specifications

• Material: zinc-plated steel band and screw
• Adjustable clamping diameter: up to 9 cm
• Clamping mechanism: worm gear (screw) type
• Suitable for use outdoors with water and irrigation systems

How to use

Position the clamp over the hose or pipe end so the band sits evenly around the connection point. Insert the hose onto the fitting or nipple, slide the clamp into place about 3–10 mm behind the hose edge, and turn the screw clockwise with a screwdriver or nut driver until the band tightens securely against the hose. Avoid over-tightening; the clamp should compress the hose enough to prevent leaks without cutting into the material. To remove or reposition, turn the screw counterclockwise until the band loosens and slide it away from the connection.

Recommendations

For outdoor or long-term installations, periodically check the clamp for signs of corrosion and retighten if necessary after the first few days of use. Use an appropriately sized clamp for the hose diameter to ensure an even seal. When working with thin-walled or soft hoses, tighten gradually and inspect the hose material to prevent deformation.
