Kiipeilyköysi Edelrid Rope Siskin Eco Dry 8,6 mm, 60 m, icemint

The Edelrid Rope Siskin Eco Dry in icemint is a slim climbing rope with an 8.6 mm diameter and 60 m length, designed for sport climbing, multipitch routes and alpine use where reduced weight and compact handling are advantageous. The rope incorporates Eco Dry treatment to improve water resistance and protect the sheath from dirt and abrasion, while maintaining suitable dynamic performance for belaying, rappelling and general rope management. Its slim profile offers easier clipping and reduced drag on protection, and the 60 m length covers most sport and many alpine pitch requirements.

Advantages

The rope’s 8.6 mm diameter provides a balance between low weight and sufficient durability for frequent lead climbing and long approaches. Eco Dry treatment increases resistance to moisture and grime, which helps maintain handling characteristics and sheath integrity over time. The slim construction improves rope handling for clipping, passing through devices and stacking, while still being compatible with standard belay devices and protection systems. The 60 m length enables longer pitches and reduces the need for rappelling multiple times on many routes.

How to use

Use this rope as a single rope for lead climbing, top-roping, multipitch climbing and rappelling. Inspect the rope visually and by feel before each use, checking for cuts, flat spots or sheath damage. Tie appropriate climbing knots (for example a figure-eight follow-through) and attach to a harness according to established safety procedures. When using belay devices, follow the device manufacturer’s instructions for ropes of this diameter and ensure compatible device settings. After wet or dirty use, clean and dry the rope according to care instructions to preserve the Eco Dry treatment and prolong service life.

Recommendations

Store the rope coiled in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and chemicals. Avoid stepping on the rope and protect it from sharp edges during use. For technical rescue or scenarios requiring fully static behaviour, select an appropriate rope type; for general climbing, follow rope inspection intervals recommended by the manufacturer and retire the rope if any significant damage or excessive wear is found.
