How to use

Connect the cable between a host USB port (or a USB-to-serial adapter if required) and the console port on the Cisco device. Use the connection for interactive configuration sessions, issuing commands, monitoring boot messages or transferring firmware as supported by the device. Follow standard device and host operating system procedures for installing any necessary drivers or console utilities.

Recommendations

For stable operation, verify device-specific console settings (baud rate, parity, stop bits) before starting a session and ensure any required drivers for USB console connectivity are installed on the host. Keep the 6 ft cable neatly routed in rack or bench environments to avoid interference with other equipment and to facilitate quick disconnection when servicing devices.
