BlueOptics QSFP28 direct-attach fibre optic cable, model 834972-B27, 20 m, provides high-speed optical connections for QSFP28 ports in data centres and enterprise network environments. The pre-terminated cable is designed for short- to mid-range links, offering a ready-to-install solution that reduces assembly time and ensures consistent signal integrity across a 20-metre span. Its blue jacket makes routing and identification easier in dense cabling environments while supporting low-latency, high-bandwidth links between switches, routers and server nodes.

Advantages

The direct-attach design eliminates the need for on-site termination and simplifies deployment in rack and row topologies. Constructed to industry optical standards, the cable maintains stable performance over its length and reduces potential signal loss compared to improvised fibre assemblies. Its 20 m length balances reach and manageability for typical data centre layouts, and the colour-coded jacket improves visual management during installation and maintenance.

How to use

Verify device compatibility with QSFP28 optical ports before installation. Route the cable along planned tray or rack pathways, avoiding sharp bends and excessive tensile stress. Align and insert each QSFP28 connector straight into the corresponding port until it seats securely according to the device manufacturer’s guidance. Test the link using standard optical or network testing tools to confirm signal integrity and throughput.

Recommendations

Handle the fibre cable by the connector housing and outer jacket; avoid touching the ferrule or exposing connector endfaces to dust. Maintain bend radii above the manufacturer’s minimum and secure excess length to prevent strain. Use appropriate cleaning tools for connector endfaces and perform link verification after installation to ensure expected performance.
