KVM-jatko Icron Ranger 2304 lähetin & vastaanotin

The Icron Ranger 2304 Transmitter & Receiver is a wired KVM extender designed to extend USB keyboard and mouse connections up to 100 meters over a dedicated cable. The pair provides USB Type-A ports at both the transmitter and receiver ends and supports data transfer rates up to 12,480 Mbit/s. With a wide AC input voltage range of 100–240 V and a compact grey enclosure, the Ranger 2304 is intended for installations that require reliable remote control and peripheral extension in office, industrial or AV environments.

Advantages

The Ranger 2304 offers stable, low-latency extension of USB HID devices with straightforward installation and consistent performance over long distances. Its support for standard USB Type-A peripherals ensures compatibility with most keyboards and mice without special drivers. The broad AC input range makes the units suitable for use in different countries and power conditions, while the wired connection reduces interference and provides predictable bandwidth for input devices.

How to use

Connect the transmitter unit to the host computer’s USB port and plug the keyboard and mouse into the transmitter’s USB Type-A ports. Place the receiver unit at the remote workstation and connect the remote keyboard and mouse to its USB Type-A ports. Link the transmitter and receiver with the appropriate extension cable up to 100 meters in length and apply power to both units using compatible AC adapters. After power-up, the units negotiate the USB HID connection automatically and the connected input devices become available at the remote location.

Recommendations

Use a high-quality shielded cable for the link between transmitter and receiver to minimise noise and ensure reliable data transmission. For installations in industrial or high-EMI environments, route cabling away from heavy machinery and power lines. Verify compatibility of any specialised keyboards or mice before deployment, and confirm that power supplies meet the specified voltage range.
