Sony LinkBuds Open are open-type wireless in-ear headphones that combine ambient awareness with music playback. The design uses an 11 mm ring driver to deliver balanced sound while allowing environmental sounds to pass through, and an air cushion stabilises each earbud for comfortable all-day wear. The set includes a charging case and supports Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

Advantages

The lightweight earbuds (approximately 4.8 g each) and ergonomic intraaural shape provide a secure fit suitable for extended use and light physical activity. The ring driver and Sony DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) restore high-frequency detail for clearer, more natural-sounding audio. Battery performance offers up to 22 hours of total playback with the charging case, and a quick 3-minute charge delivers about 1 hour of playback. Multipoint Bluetooth connection, multiple control methods (tap, voice, or app), and customizable EQ in the companion app add practical usability. The product also incorporates recycled plastics and 100% plastic-free packaging.

Suitable for

Everyday listening and podcasts while staying aware of surroundings
Phone calls and remote work communication
All-day wear and commuting
Light sports and walking

Key specifications

Driver type: 11 mm ring driver
Frequency response: 20–20,000 Hz
Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3, wireless range up to 10 m
Battery life: up to 8 hours per earbuds on a single charge, total up to 22 hours with charging case
Quick charge: ~1 hour playback from 3-minute charge
Weight: earbuds approx. 4.8 g each; total product weight approx. 63 g (with case)
Microphone: built-in
Wearing style: in-ear (intraaural)
Colours: available in white plus additional interchangeable covers (sold separately)

How to use

Place each earbud into the ear so the air cushion sits comfortably in the ear concha and the earbud is stable without deep insertion. Use the Bluetooth settings on your device to pair the LinkBuds Open; for additional features and EQ adjustment install the Sony headphones app and follow on-screen pairing instructions. Charge the earbuds in the provided case before first use and place them back into the case when not in use to recharge. Use tap controls or voice commands for playback and calls, or adjust settings via the app.

Recommendations

For best listening balance, first update firmware via the app and use the EQ to adjust treble and bass to your preference. Keep one ear free of deep isolation when needing environmental awareness. Charge the case regularly to maintain the stated total playback time.
