Linssikaukoputki National Geographic 50/600 AZ

Discover the world of astronomy with the National Geographic Refractor Telescope 50/600 AZ, an entry-level refractor designed for first-time stargazers and daytime nature observation. The telescope features a 50 mm aperture and a 600 mm focal length, offering clear images of the Moon, planets and brighter deep-sky objects. Lightweight at approximately 1.9 kg and fitted with a stable AZ (alt-azimuth) mount, it is portable and simple to set up, with user-friendly controls for smooth positioning. An included erecting lens allows upright views for terrestrial use, and the black-and-yellow design reflects the National Geographic brand aesthetic.

Advantages

The 50 mm aperture and 600 mm focal length deliver a good balance between portability and optical performance for an entry-level refractor. The erecting lens expands the telescope's use to daytime nature observation by providing correctly oriented images. The alt-azimuth mount makes pointing and tracking intuitive for beginners, and the lightweight construction supports easy transport to observing sites.

Suitable for

• Beginner astronomical observing (Moon, planets, star clusters)
• Daytime nature and landscape observation with erecting lens
• Casual stargazing sessions and portable field use

Key specifications

How to use

Set the telescope on a stable surface and mount it on the supplied alt-azimuth mount. Insert the chosen eyepiece and focus by turning the focuser knob until the image appears sharp. For terrestrial observation, install the included erecting lens according to the manual to obtain upright images. Make coarse adjustments with the mount controls and refine the view using slow, small movements. For astronomical targets, begin with low magnification eyepiece to locate the object, then switch to higher magnification if needed.

Recommendations

Use the telescope away from strong artificial lights and on nights with good seeing for the best planetary and lunar detail. Carry the telescope in its case or with proper padding during transport. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for assembly, alignment and eyepiece handling to maintain optical performance.
