Ovi-/ikkuna-anturi Sonoff DW2-Wi-Fi

The Sonoff DW2-Wi-Fi door/window sensor is a compact wireless detector designed to monitor the open or closed state of doors and windows. It connects to a home Wi‑Fi network to send real‑time notifications to a paired smart home app when a contact is broken or restored. Powered by AAA batteries with a 3V input voltage and a narrow form factor, the sensor fits discreetly on frames and sashes to provide continuous monitoring without a direct power connection.

Advantages

The device offers straightforward Wi‑Fi connectivity for easy integration into existing smart home systems and delivers instant push notifications when a door or window is opened or closed. Its small physical dimensions allow for unobtrusive installation on most frames, while battery power removes the need for wiring. The sensor’s simple contact-based operation ensures reliable detection of status changes and low maintenance due to the common AAA battery format.

Suitable for

• Monitoring exterior doors and windows for unauthorized openings
• Integrating with smart home automation routines (lighting, alarms, scenes)
• Securing interior doors, cabinets or storage areas
• Remote status checks of access points while away from home

Key specifications

• Wireless interface: Wi‑Fi
• Power source: AAA batteries, 3 V input voltage
• Dimensions: width 3.1 cm, depth 1.9 cm, height 7 cm
• Contact detection: magnetic contact sensor for open/closed state

How to use

Install the sensor by placing the main unit and the magnet so they align when the door or window is closed, following the distance guidelines in the included manual. Insert AAA batteries observing correct polarity, connect the sensor to your home Wi‑Fi network using the manufacturer’s app, and complete any required pairing or setup steps in the app to enable notifications and automation rules. Test the sensor after installation to confirm that open and close events register correctly in the app.

Recommendations

Place the sensor on clean, dry surfaces and avoid installing it where heavy condensation or direct water exposure can occur. Replace batteries when the app indicates low battery or at regular intervals based on usage patterns. Keep the Wi‑Fi signal strength adequate at the sensor location to ensure reliable event reporting.
