For maximum data protection, configure the two drives in Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) to create a redundant volume that survives a single drive failure. Use Synology's Hyper Backup to schedule automatic backups to an external USB drive or cloud service. The DS223j is also an excellent media server—install Plex or Synology's own Video Station to stream your movies and music to smart TVs and mobile devices.
