Patch-kaapeli ShiverPeaks Crossover RJ45 SFTP 2,0 m

ShiverPeaks Patch Cable Crossover RJ45 SFTP 2.0 m is a shielded Ethernet crossover cable designed for direct device-to-device connections. With a 2.0 meter length and SFTP (shielded foil over twisted pairs) construction, this crossover cable swaps transmit and receive pairs to enable direct links between two network endpoints without requiring an uplink port or intermediary switch configuration. It is intended for Ethernet networking tasks such as temporary direct connections, testing, and small office or home setups where a short, robust crossover link is needed.

Advantages

The SFTP shielding reduces electromagnetic interference and improves signal integrity compared with unshielded cables in electrically noisy environments. The RJ45 connectors are compatible with standard Ethernet ports and ensure a reliable mechanical and electrical connection. The 2.0 m length provides flexibility for desk-to-desk or equipment-to-equipment connections without excess cable slack. The built-in crossover wiring eliminates the need for manual reconfiguration or additional hardware when creating a direct link between two devices.

Suitable for

• Direct PC-to-PC file transfers and network testing
• Switch-to-switch or router-to-router temporary links without uplink ports
• Temporary Ethernet connections in home and small office environments
• Lab environments and equipment testing where crossover wiring is required

Key specifications

• Cable type: SFTP (shielded foil over twisted pairs)
• Connector type: RJ45 male on both ends
• Length: 2.0 m
• Wiring: Crossover (transmit and receive pairs swapped)
• Category: suitable for Category 5e Ethernet
• Number of pairs: 4 twisted pairs

How to use

Plug each RJ45 connector into the Ethernet port of the devices to be directly connected. Ensure both devices are powered on and network interfaces are configured appropriately for peer-to-peer communication or testing. No special software is required; the crossover wiring handles pair swapping automatically. For best performance, avoid tightly bending the cable near the connectors and keep the cable routed away from high-voltage power lines or large electromagnetic sources.

Recommendations

When using the cable in environments with significant electromagnetic interference, verify that connected devices have metal-bodied or grounded Ethernet ports to take advantage of the SFTP shielding. For permanent or long-distance links, consider standard patch cables with proper port configurations or using switches with uplink support instead of a crossover cable.
