Puukkosahanterä Bahco 3940-228-14-ST-5P High-Speed Steel 5 kpl

The Bahco 3940-228-14-ST-5P sabre saw blade set contains five High-Speed Steel (HSS) bi-metal blades engineered for demanding metal cutting tasks. Each blade features Sandflex® bi-metal construction with an HSS tooth edge containing 8% cobalt welded to a spring-steel back for enhanced durability. The blades are 0.9 mm thick, have a slope-shaped nose and are available in lengths from 100 mm to 300 mm; the set length is 228 mm (22.8 cm) per blade with a tooth pitch of 14 to 18 TPI depending on the specific variant.

Advantages

Sandflex® bi-metal construction provides high resistance to breakage and extended life when cutting a wide range of metals. The HSS teeth with 8% cobalt increase wear resistance and edge retention, while the spring steel back adds flexibility and toughness to prevent premature failure. The standard (ST) tooth shape is ground for precision and designed to deliver fast, aggressive straight cuts while remaining flexible enough for narrow or curved cuts. Packaging options include small retail packs (2 or 5 blades) and larger industrial packs (10 or 100 blades) to suit different needs.

Suitable for

• Cutting thin sheet metal and light-gauge metal components (up to 0.9 mm)
• Precision metalwork and maintenance tasks requiring durable blades
• Workshops and industrial settings needing multiple replacement blades

How to use

Install the blade in your compatible sabre/jigsaw or reciprocating saw according to the tool manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring the teeth face the material to be cut. Secure the blade in the tool’s holder and check that it is properly seated before starting. Use steady feed pressure and appropriate cutting speed for the metal thickness to avoid overheating. For narrow or curved cuts, guide the blade carefully and allow its flexibility to follow the cut path without forcing the tool.

Recommendations

For best results when cutting metal up to 0.9 mm, use coolant or compressed air to reduce heat buildup during extended cuts. Match tooth pitch (TPI) to the sheet thickness: higher TPI for finer, cleaner cuts in thinner material and lower TPI for faster cutting in slightly thicker sections. Replace blades when performance declines or teeth are visibly worn.
