Pyöreä valurautapata Staub La Cocotte 3,85 l, Bordeaux

Staub La Cocotte 3.85 L in Bordeaux is a round cast iron cocotte designed for slow cooking, braising, roasting and serving. The 3.85‑litre capacity makes it suitable for family meals and one‑pot dishes. Heavy enameled cast iron construction ensures even heat distribution and long heat retention, while the tight‑fitting lid supports internal moisture circulation to keep food tender. The enamel finish provides a non‑reactive cooking surface that is easy to clean and suitable for acidic ingredients.

Advantages

The cast iron body offers consistent heat spread across the base and walls, reducing hot spots and supporting uniform cooking. The enamel coating protects the iron, prevents rust and simplifies maintenance compared with bare cast iron. The cocotte is compatible with stovetops and oven use, enabling seamless transfer from searing on the hob to slow braising in the oven. The lid is designed to retain moisture and flavor, making it effective for long simmering times and tender roasts.

How to use

Preheat the cocotte gradually to avoid thermal shock and use medium heat for most stovetop tasks. For searing, heat the base until hot, add oil and brown ingredients, then add liquids and transfer to the oven if required. Use oven mitts or pot holders when handling hot cast iron and set the pot on a heat‑resistant surface. After cooking, allow the cocotte to cool slightly before cleaning; avoid rapid temperature changes such as rinsing a hot pot with cold water.

Recommendations

Use wooden, silicone or nylon utensils to protect the enamel surface. To preserve appearance and performance, avoid aggressive scouring pads and prolonged soaking. For stubborn residues, soak with warm water and mild detergent, then use a non‑abrasive sponge. Regular care of the enamel finish will maintain the pot's thermal properties and visual quality for years of use.
