Rack-asennettava NAS-laajennusyksikkö SYNOLOGY RX1225RP 19 inch 12-Bay yhteensopiville Synology-järjestelmille

The Synology RX1225RP 19" 12-bay rackmount expansion unit is designed to increase raw drive capacity for compatible Synology storage systems. It accepts up to twelve hot-swappable drives in a 19-inch rack form factor and is intended to integrate with Synology enclosures to expand storage space without interrupting ongoing operations. The unit includes redundant power supply support to improve availability and is targeted at environments that require scalable, on-site expansion of existing Synology NAS systems.

Advantages

The RX1225RP offers straightforward capacity expansion by adding twelve additional drive bays to a compatible Synology enclosure, enabling non-disruptive growth of storage pools. Hot-swappable drive trays simplify maintenance and replacements, while redundant power supplies reduce single points of failure and help maintain continuous operation during power module service or replacement. Its standard 19" rackmount design allows installation in server racks alongside existing infrastructure.

Suitable for

• Businesses expanding on-site Synology storage without downtime
• Server rooms and data closets with 19" rack infrastructure
• Environments requiring additional drive capacity for backup, archive, or media storage
• IT teams that need hot-swappable drive access and redundant power

Key specifications

• Form factor: 19" rackmount, 12 drive bays
• Drive support: up to twelve hot-swappable drives
• Power design: redundant power supply support
• Integration: connects to compatible Synology storage enclosures for capacity expansion

How to use

Install the RX1225RP into a standard 19" equipment rack and connect it to a compatible Synology enclosure following the manufacturer's connection procedure for your Synology model. Populate the unit with supported drives using the hot-swappable trays, then power the expansion unit and verify connection to the host Synology system. Configure the expanded capacity through the Synology management interface to add the new drives into existing storage pools or volumes as required. Follow Synology's documented steps for recognizing and integrating expansion units to ensure correct operation.

Recommendations

Use drives that are listed as compatible with your Synology host system and follow recommended RAID or storage pool configurations for redundancy. Ensure the rack has adequate cooling and power redundancy, and observe Synology's guidance for firmware compatibility and cabling when integrating the RX1225RP with your specific enclosure model.
