Rack-kotelo SILVERSTONE SST-RM41-H08 8-Bay 1U palvelinkotelo – kompakti rack-asennettava kotelo

SILVERSTONE SST-RM41-H08 is a 1U rack-mount housing engineered to accommodate up to eight 3.5" drives in a compact 19-inch enclosure. Designed for server and storage applications, the chassis offers high drive density in a slim 1U profile, enabling efficient use of rack space in data centers, small business server rooms, or home labs. The unit focuses on providing a straightforward mounting solution for multiple hard drives or SSDs while maintaining compatibility with standard rack infrastructure.

Advantages

The chassis combines a 1U height with an eight-bay drive capacity to maximize storage per rack unit without requiring a deeper or taller cabinet. Its standardized 19-inch form factor ensures compatibility with common rack systems and simplifies installation. The housing is built to provide secure drive mounting and predictable airflow pathways suitable for typical server cooling setups. The compact enclosure supports dense storage deployments where physical space and rack unit counts are limited.

Suitable for

• Data center shelf installations requiring high drive density in limited rack space
• Small business file servers and backup appliances
• Home lab and development environments that need multiple drives in a 1U form factor
• RAID or JBOD storage arrays where multiple drives are consolidated in a single rack unit

Key specifications

• Form factor: 1U rack-mount enclosure compatible with 19-inch racks
• Drive capacity: up to eight 3.5" drives (HDD/SSD)
• Material and finish: robust metal construction suitable for server use
• Cooling: designed for standard front-to-rear airflow used in rack servers
• Front panel: space-efficient layout enabling drive access in a 1U height
• Mounting: standard rack ears and mounting provisions for secure installation

How to use

Install the SILVERSTONE 1U housing into a standard 19-inch rack using the supplied mounting ears or compatible rack rails. Secure each drive into the available drive bays following the manufacturer's instructions for drive orientation and fastening. Connect drive power and data cables to a host controller or backplane configured for the chosen RAID or storage setup. Ensure chassis airflow aligns with the rack’s cooling plan, typically front-to-rear, and verify that adjacent rack units do not obstruct intake or exhaust areas.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use drives rated for continuous server use and check that your server power supply and storage controller can support the combined power and bandwidth of up to eight drives. Maintain proper rack ventilation and allow adequate space for cabling at the rear to prevent airflow restriction. Regularly monitor drive temperatures and replace or reseat drives that show abnormal readings.
