Reititin Draytek VIGOR ACS2 2.4GHz 802.11ac

The Draytek VIGOR ACS2 2.4GHz 802.11ac router provides dual-band connectivity and support for the 802.11ac Wi‑Fi standard to deliver stable wireless access for homes and small offices. Designed by Draytek for straightforward deployment and everyday use, the VIGOR ACS2 combines essential routing functions with integrated security and simple management via a web interface. It operates on the 2.4 GHz band using 802.11ac modulation to maximize compatibility with a wide range of client devices while offering improved throughput compared with older 802.11n-only models.

Advantages

The VIGOR ACS2 offers reliable wireless coverage on the 2.4 GHz band and compatibility with 802.11ac clients, enabling better data rates and reduced latency for typical internet tasks. Built-in security measures and configuration options allow basic protection of the local network and control over connected devices. The router’s interface is designed for straightforward setup and routine administration, requiring minimal technical maintenance for ongoing operation.

Suitable for

• Home internet access with multiple Wi‑Fi devices
• Small office wireless networking and basic file sharing
• General web browsing, video streaming at standard resolutions, and VoIP
• Replacement or upgrade from older 2.4 GHz-only routers

Key specifications

• Wireless standard: 802.11ac (operating on 2.4 GHz band)
• Frequency: 2.4 GHz single-band operation
• Security: WPA/WPA2 wireless security and router-based firewall features
• Management: Web-based administration interface for configuration and monitoring
• Connectivity: Multiple LAN ports for wired devices (typical router port arrangement)
• Form factor: Desktop router with integrated antennas

How to use

Unpack the router and connect it to your modem or internet source using an Ethernet cable, then connect a power adapter and switch the device on. Access the web-based administration interface from a connected computer or mobile device by opening a browser and entering the router’s default IP address as specified in the quick start guide. Follow the on-screen setup wizard to set an administrator password, configure the wireless network name (SSID) and password, and apply basic security settings. Connect client devices to the configured SSID and verify internet access. For advanced options, navigate through the administration menus to adjust firewall rules, DHCP settings, and device management.

Recommendations

Place the router in a central, elevated location away from thick walls and large metal objects to optimize 2.4 GHz coverage. Keep firmware up to date by checking Draytek’s support site periodically and use WPA2 authentication with a strong passphrase. For mixed wired and wireless environments, connect stationary high‑bandwidth devices by Ethernet to reduce wireless congestion.
