Reititin MikroTik hAP ax S — dualband 2,4/5 GHz, 1800 Mbit/s, 5x Ethernet (sis. 2,5G), PoE, musta

The MikroTik hAP ax S is a compact dual-band Wi‑Fi 6 access point and router designed for home and small office networks. It combines a triple‑chain 5 GHz radio and a 2.4 GHz radio for a maximum aggregate throughput of up to 1800 Mbit/s, five Gigabit Ethernet ports including a 2.5 Gbit-capable SFP cage, dual-core ARM CPU, and flexible powering options (DC jack or PoE‑in with passive PoE‑out). The unit is housed in a durable, mountable enclosure and runs RouterOS v7 for advanced network configuration without subscription fees.

Advantages

The device delivers gigabit-class wireless performance on 5 GHz with a triple‑chain radio that provides real-world throughput around 800–900 Mbit/s while also supporting 2.4 GHz clients. Multiple wired ports including a multi‑gig SFP option enable high-speed connections to NAS or fiber links. RouterOS v7 offers a full feature set — VLANs, firewall, VPN, traffic shaping and scripting — with no additional costs. Dual powering (DC or PoE‑in) plus passive PoE‑out allows flexible installations and neat cable management.

Suitable for

• Home networks requiring stable dual‑band Wi‑Fi 6 coverage
• Small offices needing mixed wired and wireless connectivity with a 2.5G uplink
• High‑throughput local access to NAS or direct fiber connections
• VR streaming or other low‑latency wireless applications

Key specifications

• Wireless: Dual‑band Wi‑Fi 6 (2.4 GHz + triple‑chain 5 GHz)
• Maximum aggregate throughput: 1800 Mbit/s (2.4 GHz 574 Mbit/s, 5 GHz 1800 Mbit/s)
• Ethernet: 5 × Gigabit Ethernet ports
• Multi‑gig: 2.5 Gbit SFP cage
• CPU: Dual‑core ARM
• Power: DC jack or PoE‑in, passive PoE‑out
• Operating system: RouterOS v7 (full feature set, no subscription)

How to use

Mount the hAP ax S on a wall or place it on a shelf, connect an internet source to the SFP or one of the Gigabit ports, and power the device via the DC jack or PoE‑in. Use the MikroTik app or the RouterOS web/CLI interface to configure SSIDs, security settings, VLANs and firewall rules. Optionally connect a NAS or switch to the 2.5G SFP port for high‑speed local transfers. Use the passive PoE‑out port to power a secondary MikroTik device if needed.

Recommendations

Place the unit centrally for best wireless coverage, keep firmware updated to the latest RouterOS v7 release for security and feature updates, and segregate IoT devices onto separate VLANs to reduce exposure of the main network.
