RJ45-liitin ShiverPeaks BS08-45004-2 Cat 8.1 kenttäkonfiguroitava metalli

The ShiverPeaks BS08-45004-2 Cat 8.1 field-configurable metal RJ45 connector is a modular, field-terminate plug engineered for high-performance Ethernet installations. Designed to meet Cat 8.1 requirements, this metal-housed connector supports secure shielding and reliable signal integrity for short-run, high-speed links. It is suitable for on-site assembly and custom cabling where professional-grade termination and robust mechanical protection are required.

Advantages

The metal housing provides enhanced electromagnetic shielding and mechanical durability compared with plastic plugs, reducing interference and improving long-term reliability. Field-configurable termination enables on-site assembly and flexible cable management, allowing technicians to prepare custom-length patch leads and hardwired connections without factory pre-termination. The connector is compatible with Cat 8.1 performance parameters, offering support for higher frequencies and improved return loss characteristics in tightly managed installations.

Suitable for

• Data center patching and short-distance high-speed links
• Server rooms and network closets requiring shielded terminations
• On-site custom cable assemblies and emergency repairs
• Professional Ethernet deployments where Cat 8.1 performance is specified

Key specifications

• Connector type: RJ45 field-terminable metal plug
• Performance class: Designed for Category 8.1 Ethernet applications
• Shielding: Metal housing for full or enhanced EMI protection
• Termination: Field-configurable for on-site crimping or termination
• Use case: Short-run, high-frequency copper links and patch cords

How to use

Prepare the shielded twisted-pair cable to the recommended conductor and shield exposure lengths, following the cable manufacturer’s instructions. Slide any required ferrules or boots onto the cable before termination. Insert conductors into the connector according to the appropriate wiring scheme and ensure shielding contact is established with the metal housing. Complete the termination using the recommended crimping or termination tool, and verify mechanical connection and continuity with appropriate network testers to confirm Cat 8.1 performance where necessary.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use with shielded Cat 8.1-rated cables and ensure proper bonding of the connector housing to the cable shield and equipment ground. Verify terminations with a certified tester and follow site grounding practices to minimize EMI and maintain signal integrity in high-speed installations.
