RS232-kaapeli VALUE DB9 M - F 3 m

The VALUE RS232 Cable DB9 M - F 3 m is a 3‑metre serial data cable with a male DB9 connector on one end and a female DB9 connector on the other. Designed for RS232 communication, the grey cable provides a straightforward wired connection between computers, legacy equipment, industrial controllers and other devices that use the 9‑pin D‑sub interface. The cable construction balances flexibility and durability to suit both occasional home use and continuous professional deployments.

Advantages

The cable supports standard RS232 signal levels and offers a simple, plug‑and‑play solution for serial communication without the need for adapters. Its 3 m length provides reach for devices spaced apart while remaining manageable in typical workstation and rack environments. The DB9 male and female connectors are widely compatible with legacy serial ports and many industrial devices, and the grey jacket helps conceal wear and dirt for a tidy installation.

Suitable for

• Connecting PCs and laptops with RS232 serial ports to peripherals
• Linking industrial controllers, PLCs and automation modules
• Interfacing point‑of‑sale systems, barcode scanners and receipt printers
• Serial console access for network equipment and servers
• Legacy hardware communication and data logging applications

Key specifications

• Connector type: DB9 male to DB9 female (D‑sub 9‑pin)
• Cable length: 3 metres
• Cable colour: grey
• Signal standard: RS232 serial communication
• Jacket material: flexible PVC (typical for serial cables)
• Conductor type: multi‑core copper conductors for signal integrity

How to use

Connect the male DB9 end to the serial port of the host device and the female DB9 end to the peripheral or target device. Ensure both devices are powered off or that serial ports are configured to safe states before connecting if recommended by device manufacturers. After physical connection, configure the communication settings (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits, and flow control) on both devices to match the RS232 parameters required by the application. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and sources of strong electromagnetic interference to maintain signal quality.

Recommendations

For reliable long‑term operation, avoid tight bending radii and excessive tension on the cable; maintain gentle curves and secure the cable with cable ties if needed. Keep the cable away from high‑voltage power lines and motors to reduce noise. For installations in harsh or outdoor environments, consider additional shielding or a purpose‑built industrial serial cable.
