Sarjaporttipalvelin Exsys EX-6112-2 — Ethernet 2×RS-232, 12 V/3 A virtalähde

Exsys EX-6112-2 is a compact serial device server that converts Ethernet to two RS-232 interfaces, enabling legacy serial equipment to communicate over IP networks. The unit provides remote access, monitoring and control of connected serial devices and requires an external 12 V / 3 A power supply. Designed for both industrial and office environments, the server supports stable network integration of point-of-sale terminals, measurement instruments, controllers and other RS-232 peripherals.

Advantages

The device offers two independent RS-232 ports accessible via Ethernet, reducing the need for direct serial cabling and allowing centralized management. Its straightforward power requirement of 12 V / 3 A simplifies installation with common power adapters. The compact form factor and industrial-capable design make it suitable for mounting in racks, cabinets or small enclosures while preserving reliable serial communication and network connectivity.

Suitable for

• Connecting POS systems, cash registers and barcode scanners to a network
• Integrating measurement instruments and laboratory devices into remote monitoring systems
• Connecting PLCs, controllers and industrial sensors for centralized control
• Providing remote access to legacy serial devices in office IT environments

Key specifications

• Network interface: Ethernet (10/100 Mbps)
• Serial interfaces: 2 × RS-232 ports
• Power input: 12 V DC, recommended 3 A power supply
• Form factor: compact, suitable for mounting in cabinets or small racks
• Operating environments: industrial and office use

How to use

Install the Exsys EX-6112-2 in a location with network access and appropriate ventilation. Connect the device to your Ethernet network using a standard network cable and attach RS-232 cables to the serial equipment you wish to bring online. Provide power using a 12 V DC, 3 A adapter rated for the installation. Configure network settings and serial port parameters via the device web interface or supplied configuration utility to match baud rate, parity, data bits and stop bits of the connected equipment. After configuration, verify connectivity by initiating communication from a network host to the mapped serial ports and monitor data transfer and logs to confirm stable operation.

Recommendations

Place the device in an environment protected from excessive dust and moisture, and use shielded RS-232 cabling for installations with potential electromagnetic interference. Ensure the 12 V/3 A power supply is correctly rated and provides stable DC output. Regularly back up device configuration after initial setup and apply firmware updates from the manufacturer to maintain security and compatibility.
