Silicon Power 2,5 inch SATA III SSD 960 GB — 6 Gbit/s, TRIM, S.M.A.R.T., 7 mm

The Silicon Power Slim S55 SSD (960 GB, 2.5" SATA III) provides an affordable way to renew a computer by replacing an old hard drive with a faster solid-state drive. With a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface and TLC NAND, the drive shortens boot and application load times while maintaining a slim 2.5" form factor and a lightweight design.

Advantages

The S55 delivers faster system start-up and application launches thanks to the SATA III 6 Gb/s interface and selected NAND Flash. Built-in Bad Block Management and ECC support improve data reliability and prolong the SSD’s lifespan. The drive is shock- and vibration-resistant because it has no moving parts, and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring helps track drive health. Internal auto-copy technology moves data from SLC cache to TLC blocks to reduce controller load and improve efficiency.

Suitable for

• Upgrading an older laptop or desktop to improve boot and load times
• General home and office tasks such as web browsing, document editing and media playback
• Users who need a cost-effective, reliable storage upgrade with 960 GB capacity

How to use

Power off your computer and disconnect it from mains. Open the device’s case or service hatch, remove the existing 2.5" drive or mount the SSD into an available 2.5" bay or adapter. Connect the S55 to the motherboard with a SATA data cable and to power with the SATA power connector. Reassemble the device, power it on, and initialize or clone your operating system to the new SSD using cloning software if required. After installation, enable AHCI mode in BIOS/UEFI for optimal performance.

Recommendations

For best results, use the S55 as a system drive (OS and applications) to significantly reduce boot and load times. Keep firmware updated and monitor drive health via S.M.A.R.T. tools. Consider backing up important data regularly despite the drive’s reliability features.
