Sisäinen kiintolevy HPE 450 GB 2,5 tuuman SAS 15000 kierr./min 744995-002

The Internal Hard Drive HPE 450 GB 2.5" SAS 15000 RPM 744995-002 is a 2.5-inch enterprise-class hard disk drive offering 450 GB usable capacity and a 15,000 RPM spindle speed. Designed for deployment in servers and storage arrays that use a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface, this drive targets workloads requiring low latency and sustained transactional performance. The compact 2.5" form factor supports high-density rack configurations and hot-swap bays common in enterprise systems.

Advantages

The drive combines high rotational speed with enterprise-grade design to deliver faster seek times and improved I/O responsiveness compared with lower-speed drives. Its SAS interface provides robust connectivity and compatibility with many server controllers and storage enclosures, while the 2.5" form factor enables efficient use of chassis space. The 450 GB capacity balances storage density and performance for active dataset storage and metadata volumes.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• Primary boot or operating system volumes in enterprise servers
• Databases and transaction-heavy applications requiring low latency
• Storage arrays and SAN nodes where high IOPS are needed
• Cache, metadata, or tier-1 storage in mixed-tier systems

Key specifications

• Capacity: 450 GB
• Form factor: 2.5-inch
• Interface: SAS (Serial Attached SCSI)
• Rotational speed: 15,000 RPM

How to use

Install the 2.5" SAS drive into a compatible hot-swap bay or drive tray according to the server or enclosure manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure the SAS controller and firmware support the drive and configure RAID or logical volumes as required by your system design. For initial deployment, perform a secure erase or format if required by your operational procedures, then integrate the drive into backups and monitoring systems to track health and performance metrics.

Recommendations

Use this high-speed SAS drive for workloads where low latency and consistent I/O are important. Pair it with compatible enterprise-class controllers, proper cooling, and monitoring tools. Consider using the drive in RAID configurations for redundancy and follow vendor guidelines for firmware updates and drive lifecycle management.
