Skywatcher Dobsonian 10 Pyrex 254/1200 kaukoputki

Imagine a moonless night far from city lights. You set up your Skywatcher Dobsonian 10 Pyrex telescope on a sturdy patch of grass, slide in the 25mm eyepiece, and aim at the Orion Nebula. The view is breathtaking—swirls of gas and dust, sharp and bright, thanks to the 254mm parabolic Pyrex mirror. This telescope is built for deep-sky observers who demand serious light grasp without a complicated setup.

Why choose it

The 10-inch Pyrex mirror delivers exceptional light collection, revealing faint galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters with stunning clarity. The Dobsonian mount provides smooth manual tracking with no polar alignment needed—just place it on the ground and observe. The 2-inch Crayford focuser accepts both 2-inch and 1.25-inch eyepieces for versatile magnification options. Solid steel tube construction ensures durability and stable collimation.

Ideal use cases

• Visual deep-sky observation from dark-sky sites
• Planetary and lunar viewing with high magnification
• Astronomy outreach and public star parties
• Serious amateur astronomers upgrading from smaller scopes

Good to know

The telescope ships in two main parts—optical tube and rocker box—for easy transport and assembly. The included eyepiece tray keeps accessories handy during sessions. Collimation is straightforward with standard tools. Total weight is approximately 28 kg, so a carrying handle on the tube aids lifting. The Pyrex mirror holds its figure well across temperature changes, reducing cool-down time compared to standard glass.
