Stanley FATMAX XL Trigger Clamp tankopuristin

The Stanley FATMAX XL Trigger Clamp is a heavy-duty bar clamp designed for woodworking, joinery and general DIY tasks requiring secure, wide-span clamping. Constructed from fiberglass, nylon and steel, this clamp provides a 90 cm opening capacity and a robust clamping surface suitable for gluing, assembly and straightening of large components. Its 1150 mm overall width and 90 mm depth allow effective pressure distribution across wide boards and panels.

Advantages

The clamp combines a fiberglass bar for reduced weight with durable nylon and steel components for strength and resistance to wear. Its trigger mechanism enables one-handed operation and quick adjustment, while the broad clamping pads protect workpieces from damage and deliver consistent pressure. The tool's construction ensures stable performance during repetitive tasks and provides longevity in workshop conditions.

Suitable for

• Clamping boards and panels during glue-ups
• Holding workpieces for cutting, sanding or routing
• Assembling frames, doors and furniture components
• Temporary fixturing for repairs and DIY projects

Key specifications

• Clamping opening: 90 cm
• Overall width: 1150 mm
• Depth: 90 mm
• Materials: fiberglass bar, nylon and steel components
• Operation: trigger-actuated one-handed adjustment
• Protective clamping pads to reduce surface marring

How to use

Place the clamp across the workpiece so the clamping pads sit squarely on the material surfaces. Squeeze the trigger to advance the movable jaw until contact is made, then continue squeezing until the required pressure is applied. For larger assemblies, use multiple clamps spaced evenly to maintain even pressure across the joint. Release pressure by engaging the quick-release mechanism or by depressing the release catch as designed, and reposition as needed.

Recommendations

Use protective pads or scrap wood between the clamp pads and finished surfaces for delicate materials. Inspect the clamp for wear or damage before use, and avoid exceeding the clamp's recommended opening to preserve mechanism integrity. Store in a dry place to prevent corrosion of metal parts.
