Studiomikrofoni AKG C1000 S

The AKG C1000 S is a compact studio microphone designed for accurate sound reproduction in a range of recording situations. With a sensitivity of 73 dB and a frequency response spanning 50–20,000 Hz, it captures vocals and instruments with clarity. The microphone uses a wired XLR-3 connection and requires 52 V phantom power for operation. Its slim black body measures approximately 34 mm x 34 mm x 229 mm, making it suitable for close-miking and setup in limited spaces.

Advantages

The C1000 S offers reliable wired connectivity via an XLR-3 interface and consistent performance thanks to its specified sensitivity and wide frequency range. Its compact dimensions allow flexible positioning on stands or booms, while the microphone’s construction supports stable tonal reproduction across common studio and live recording applications. Designed for clarity, the microphone minimizes coloration and preserves the natural character of the source.

Suitable for

• Vocal recordings in studio and home setups
• Instrument close-miking (guitars, brass, woodwinds)
• Podcasting and voice-over work
• Live reinforcement for small stages and rehearsals

Key specifications

• Sensitivity: 73 dB
• Frequency response: 50 – 20,000 Hz
• Connection: wired XLR-3
• Operating voltage: 52 V phantom power
• Color: black
• Dimensions (approx.): 34 mm × 34 mm × 229 mm

How to use

Connect the microphone to a mixer, audio interface, or preamplifier using a standard XLR cable and enable 52 V phantom power on the receiving device. Position the microphone at an appropriate distance from the sound source to balance proximity effect and room sound—closer for presence and detail, slightly further for a more natural tone. Use a stand or shock mount to reduce handling noise, and apply basic EQ and gain staging on your input channel to avoid clipping while preserving dynamics.

Recommendations

For best results, pair the microphone with a low-noise preamplifier and monitor through closed-back headphones during tracking. Experiment with placement and angle to find the optimal capture for each voice or instrument, and use a pop filter when recording vocals to reduce plosives.
