Suodatin Hama Vario 6,7 cm

The HAMA Vario neutral-density filter (ND2–400) in 6.7 cm size reduces incoming light to allow greater control over aperture and shutter speed when shooting in bright conditions. It features a rotating front element for continuous adjustment of density and a stepped front ring that prevents vignetting on wide-angle lenses. The filter fits lenses that accept a 72 mm front cap.

Advantages

This variable ND filter provides exposure correction across a wide range (+1 to +8 stops) without changing filters, enabling use of large apertures outdoors for shallow depth of field and allowing both long-exposure effects (smooth, flowing water at exposures longer than 1/30 s) and short-exposure freezing of motion. The rotating front element makes fine adjustment quick and precise, and the larger front diameter helps avoid vignetting on many lens setups.

Suitable for

• Landscape and long-exposure photography (smooth water, motion blur)
• Portraits outdoors when a shallow depth of field is desired
• Videography requiring controlled exposure without changing shutter/aperture
• Situations with very bright light where reduced exposure is necessary

Key specifications

• Type: Variable neutral-density filter (ND2–400)
• Exposure range: approx. +1 to +8 stops
• Filter size / front cap: requires 72 mm lens cap
• Front construction: rotating front element with enlarged front diameter to reduce vignetting
• Brand / model: HAMA Vario (MPN 79167, EAN 4007249791672)

How to use

Attach the filter to the lens threads and secure a 72 mm lens cap when needed. Rotate the front element to adjust the density until the desired exposure or depth of field is achieved, monitoring the camera’s meter or histogram. For long-exposure shots, use a tripod and remote release to avoid camera shake. When switching from wide-angle to telephoto settings, check for any vignetting and adjust the filter placement or framing if required.

Recommendations

To minimize vignetting on wide-angle lenses, use the filter’s enlarged front element and verify compatibility with your lens; always keep a 72 mm lens cap available. Avoid extreme rotations that may produce cross-polarization effects with certain lenses and be mindful of potential color shifts at maximum density.
