How to use

Turn the calculator on using the power key or slide off the protective cover to access the keyboard. Enter numerical values and select functions using the labeled keys; multi-step expressions can be input sequentially with use of parentheses and the expression-editing keys. For statistical or fraction operations, select the appropriate mode from the mode menu and follow on-screen prompts for data entry. When not in use, slide the protective cover back on to protect the display and keys. Replace the battery as recommended by the manufacturer when display dimming indicates reduced backup power.

Recommendations

Use the Casio FX-87DE X in well-lit environments to maximize solar charging efficiency and store it in a protective case when carrying it in a bag. Clean the housing and keys with a soft, dry cloth; avoid liquids and abrasive cleaners. Before examinations, verify that the model is permitted under exam rules and ensure the battery level is adequate for uninterrupted use.
