Tonsil MBD 320 90 mm keskiäänikaiutin 30W RMS 4 ohmia

Upgrading or repairing a speaker system often stalls when the midrange driver cannot keep pace with the rest of the setup. The Tonsil MBD 320 steps in as a dedicated 90 mm midrange driver, engineered to reproduce the critical vocal and instrument band with clarity and reliability. With 30 W RMS power handling and a 4-ohm impedance, it slots into compact bookshelf speakers, car audio builds, or custom enclosures where space is tight but midrange presence cannot be compromised.

Who is it for

This driver suits DIY speaker builders, audio repair technicians, and car audio enthusiasts who need a dependable midrange unit without overspending. It is also a practical choice for replacing a worn or blown midrange in older two-way or three-way cabinets, restoring balanced sound without redesigning the crossover.

Main features

• 90 mm (3.5") midrange driver with cellulose cone and foam surround for natural, low-coloration midrange output.
• 30 W RMS / 60 W peak power handling, 4-ohm impedance, and 88 dB sensitivity for efficient performance with modest amplifiers.
• Ferrite magnet and stamped steel basket provide durability and consistent magnetic flux under continuous load.
• Frequency response from 150 Hz to 10 kHz covers the core midrange band, allowing smooth integration with tweeters and woofers.
• Compact mounting depth of 40 mm and 78 mm mounting hole diameter fit standard cutouts and shallow enclosures.

Tips

Pair the MBD 320 with a crossover set around 150–200 Hz high-pass and 8–10 kHz low-pass to protect it from bass excursion and tweeter overlap. Use a sealed or properly damped enclosure to keep midrange transients tight. For car installations, ensure the mounting baffle is rigid to avoid resonance that can smear vocals.
