For businesses that need reliable, high-density Wi-Fi without the complexity of enterprise hardware, the TP-Link EAP245 stands out with its AC1750 dual-band speeds and seamless integration into the Omada SDN ecosystem. Unlike standalone access points that require individual configuration, this model can be centrally managed alongside other Omada devices, making it a practical choice for growing networks. Its ceiling-mounted design blends into office environments while delivering strong, consistent coverage.

Highlights

AC1750 Wi-Fi: 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz + 1300 Mbps on 5 GHz for smooth HD streaming and large file transfers.
Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports with 802.3af/at PoE support for flexible deployment and high-speed wired backhaul.
Omada SDN compatibility allows centralized management, monitoring, and firmware updates across multiple access points.
Internal omni-directional antennas (4 dBi on 2.4 GHz, 5 dBi on 5 GHz) with 3x3 MIMO and beamforming for focused coverage.
Enterprise-grade security including WPA/WPA2-Enterprise, MAC filtering, and rogue AP detection.

In daily use

Installation is straightforward: mount the EAP245 on a ceiling or wall, connect it to a PoE switch or injector, and adopt it via the Omada controller or web interface. In an office with 30-50 active clients, the access point maintains stable connections thanks to band steering and load balancing. The guest network feature isolates visitors from internal resources, while VLAN tagging keeps traffic segmented. The compact white housing is unobtrusive, and the LED indicators provide at-a-glance status. Power consumption is a modest 12.7 W, so it runs cool even in enclosed spaces.

Teknologiamedioiden riippumattomat arvostelut

Loppuarvio: For now, the TP-Link EAP245 didn't really rise up to the expectation, mostly because of the disappointing wireless speed performance, but, if it turns out that I got a bad unit, then this can be improved; besides that, the EAP245 has a very good heat mana...
