Tukiasema HPE Aruba AP-514 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6

The HPE Aruba AP-514 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 access point supports 802.11ax (Wi‑Fi 6) and is engineered to provide high-performance connectivity for mobile and IoT devices across a range of environments. This dual‑band AP operates on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels, delivers a maximum data rate up to 5375 Mbit/s, and supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) for simplified installation. It includes enterprise security support such as WPA and WPA2 and offers multi‑gigabit Ethernet uplink options (100/1000/2500 Mbit/s) for modern network demands.

Advantages

The AP-514 uses 802.11ax technology to improve overall network capacity and handle more simultaneous clients compared with 802.11ac devices, with up to a 4× performance increase in dense deployments. Aruba software adds AI‑powered RF optimisation, always‑on connectivity, WPA3‑classified security improvements, and unified wired/wireless policy enforcement via Dynamic Segmentation. A Green AP mode leverages AI/ML to reduce energy consumption for 802.11ax access points.

Suitable for

• Office environments with dense client presence
• Retail locations and public venues supporting mobile and IoT devices
• Campus and education networks requiring centralized policy control
• Environments needing simplified installation using PoE

How to use

Mount the AP-514 in the chosen coverage area and connect it to the network using an Ethernet cable with PoE to provide both power and data. Configure the access point with Aruba management tools or your network controller to set SSIDs, security (WPA/WPA2/WPA3 where available), and Dynamic Segmentation policies. Verify radio settings for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz to optimise coverage and client distribution, and monitor performance using the Aruba management interface.

Recommendations

Place the AP-514 centrally relative to the client devices for best coverage, enable AI‑driven RF optimisation if available, and use PoE switches that support the required power profile. For dense deployments, plan channel allocation and capacity to take advantage of 802.11ax features and consider enabling Green AP mode to reduce energy consumption when traffic is low.
