Ulkoinen M.2 SSD -kotelo GrauGear G-M2U4-40G01 PCIe 4.0:lla ja USB‑C:llä

The GrauGear G-M2U4-40G01 is an external M.2 SSD enclosure designed for PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 drives and equipped with a USB‑C interface for high-speed external storage. The enclosure accommodates a single M.2 NVMe SSD and converts its PCIe 4.0 performance to a portable USB‑C connection, providing a compact solution for expanding storage on laptops, desktops and workstations. It is intended for users who need fast external access to NVMe drives for backups, file transfers and media editing workflows.

Advantages

The enclosure supports PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 drives, enabling higher transfer throughput when paired with compatible drives and host interfaces. Its USB‑C connection offers broad compatibility with modern computers and simplified plug-and-play operation. The compact, lightweight housing provides portable storage expansion without adding a dedicated internal slot, and thermal design considerations help maintain drive performance during sustained transfers.

Suitable for

• Portable high-speed storage for laptops and ultrabooks
• External scratch or cache drive for video and photo editing
• Fast file transfer between workstations and servers
• Secure, removable backup and archive of large datasets

Key specifications

• Form factor supported: M.2 NVMe (single-sided or double-sided M.2 2280/2260/2242 depending on enclosure length support)
• Interface to drive: PCIe 4.0 NVMe protocol compatibility
• Host interface: USB‑C connection supporting high-speed data transfer
• Power: bus-powered via USB‑C (no external power adapter required)
• Material and construction: compact metal or mixed-material housing with thermal dissipation features

How to use

Install a compatible M.2 NVMe SSD into the enclosure following the orientation indicated by the enclosure's screw and standoff positions, secure the drive, and close the housing according to the enclosed instructions. Connect the enclosure to a host device using the supplied USB‑C cable or a compatible USB‑C cable that supports data. The host operating system will recognize the NVMe drive as external storage; format the drive if required by your operating system before first use. For optimal performance, connect to a host port that supports the highest available USB or Thunderbolt bandwidth.

Recommendations

Use high-quality PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs to achieve maximum throughput, ensure the USB‑C cable and host port support the required bandwidth, and maintain adequate airflow around the enclosure during extended transfers to reduce thermal throttling. Regularly back up important data and handle the enclosure carefully to protect the installed SSD from shock or electrostatic discharge.
