USB 3.2 Gen 1 2x2 -jakokytkin ATEN US4322 — 2 isäntää / 2 laitetta, Type-A

The ATEN US4322 is a compact USB 3.2 Gen 1 2x2 sharing switch that allows two host computers to share two USB Type‑A devices or, conversely, lets two devices be accessed by two hosts. The unit uses USB Type‑A host and hub interfaces and is powered via USB, offering plug‑and‑play operation in a small black plastic enclosure. With SuperSpeed USB 3.2 Gen 1 data rates up to 5 Gbps and a built‑in pushbutton for quick switching, the US4322 is designed for simple, fast peripheral sharing between desktop or workstation systems.

Advantages

The switch supports up to 5 Gbps transfer speeds for fast file access and device responsiveness while remaining OS independent and hot‑pluggable, so no drivers or additional software are required. Its USB power design removes the need for an external adapter and the compact housing with accent lighting minimises desktop footprint. The dedicated pushbutton provides immediate manual switching between hosts for straightforward control of connected peripherals.

Suitable for

• Sharing external storage drives between two computers
• Using a single printer or scanner from two separate systems
• Small office and home office setups with dual‑computer workflows
• Multimedia or content creation environments that require quick access to shared USB devices

When it may not be suitable

The US4322 is designed specifically for Type‑A USB peripherals and hosts; it does not provide USB‑C native ports or supplies power beyond standard USB bus power, so it may not be suitable for devices that require dedicated external power. It is also not a KVM switch: it does not switch video or audio signals, so it will not substitute for a full keyboard‑video‑mouse solution when display sharing is needed.

Key specifications

• USB standard: USB 3.2 Gen 1 (SuperSpeed, up to 5 Gbps)
• Host interface type: USB Type‑A
• Hub interface type: USB Type‑A
• Number of hosts: 2
• Number of device ports: 2 (total ports: 4)
• Power supply: USB bus‑powered (no external adapter)
• Housing material and colour: black plastic
• Dimensions (W×D×H): 56.5 × 61 × 15.2 mm
• Weight: 0.03 kg

How to use

Connect the two host computers to the host USB Type‑A ports and attach up to two USB Type‑A peripherals to the device ports. Power the unit from a host USB port; the switch requires no external power adapter. Use the built‑in pushbutton to switch which host has access to the connected peripherals. Because the device is hot‑pluggable and OS independent, you can add or remove peripherals without shutting down systems and no special drivers are required for mainstream operating systems such as Windows, macOS, or Linux.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm that your peripherals and hosts use USB Type‑A connectors or that you have suitable adapters for USB‑C devices.
• Check device power requirements—high‑power peripherals may need an external power source as the switch is USB bus‑powered.
• Ensure you do not require video or audio switching; this unit only switches USB data devices.
• Evaluate port quantity: two device ports shared between two hosts may be insufficient for larger peripheral sets.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, connect the US4322 directly to host USB ports rather than through long passive extension cables or unpowered hubs. Use the built‑in pushbutton to change host access and verify file transfers complete before switching hosts. For devices that draw significant current, use peripherals with their own power supply or connect to a powered USB hub when needed.
