USB-A Ethernet -sovitin MediaRange MRCS238 RJ45-portilla, 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, 20 cm, musta

MediaRange USB-A Ethernet Adapter MRCS238 provides wired network connectivity for devices with a USB-A host interface and a single RJ45 Ethernet port. The compact black adapter uses a 20 cm cable and supports 10/100/1000 Mbps (Gigabit) speeds, delivering a stable wired connection for laptops, desktops and other USB-A equipped devices that lack a built-in Ethernet port. USB-powered operation requires no external power supply, and the adapter is designed for straightforward integration into home, office or mobile setups.

Advantages

The MRCS238 delivers reliable Gigabit LAN performance in a small, lightweight form factor that is easy to carry and install. Its USB-powered design removes the need for extra power adapters and the product offers plug-and-play compatibility with major operating systems. The robust black housing provides physical protection while maintaining a low-profile footprint on a desk or in a bag.

Suitable for

• Connecting laptops without Ethernet ports to wired office or home networks
• Desktops or mini-PCs that require an additional Ethernet interface
• Stable internet access for streaming, large file transfers and online meetings
• Network configuration and troubleshooting where wired connectivity is preferred

When it may not be suitable

This adapter requires a device with a USB-A host port; it is not compatible with devices that only have USB-C ports unless a separate USB-C to USB-A adapter is used. It is designed for standard network use and does not provide advanced managed switch features, PoE supply, or multi-port aggregation in a single unit.

Key specifications

• Connection type: USB-A (host) to RJ45 (Ethernet)
• Network standard: 10/100/1000 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet)
• Cable length: 20 cm
• Power: USB-powered (no external power required)
• Colour: Black
• Compatible operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux (plug-and-play)
• Form factor: Compact, lightweight adapter for portable use

How to use

Plug the USB-A connector into an available USB-A port on your computer. Connect an Ethernet cable from your network or router into the RJ45 socket on the adapter. The adapter is USB-powered and typically installs automatically; wait for the operating system to recognise the device and assign network settings. If necessary, configure IP or DNS settings through your system network preferences to match your network environment.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure your device has a USB-A port; for USB-C only devices a separate adapter is required
• Confirm your network requires Gigabit speeds to benefit from 1000 Mbps capability
• Check operating system compatibility for any specific enterprise or legacy environments

Recommendations

For stable performance, use a quality Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable and connect directly to a router, switch or wall outlet. Avoid excessive bending of the short cable and store the adapter in a protective pocket when transporting to prevent connector wear. For laptops with limited USB ports, consider a USB hub if additional USB peripherals are required alongside wired networking.
