Valurautainen tajine Staub 20 cm pyöreä creme, malli 40509-394

This Staub cast iron tajine 20 cm round in cream (model 40509-394) is a compact, heavy-duty cooking vessel designed for slow cooking, braising and stewing. The thick enameled cast iron body ensures even heat distribution and excellent heat retention, while the conical lid captures steam and returns condensed juices to the food for moist, flavorful results. The cream enamel finish provides a neutral, classic look suitable for both stovetop and oven use and for serving directly at the table.

Advantages

The cast iron construction offers consistent thermal performance and long heat retention for gentle, uniform cooking. The conical lid design encourages condensation and self-basting, reducing the need for added liquid and preserving flavors. Enameled interior and exterior simplify cleaning and prevent reactive contact with acidic ingredients. Its 20 cm diameter makes it suitable for small to medium portions, and the robust build is compatible with direct stovetop heat as well as oven temperatures.

Suitable for

• Slow-cooked stews and tagines
• Braising meats and poultry
• Simmering vegetable dishes and legumes
• Cooking on stovetop and finishing in the oven
• Table presentation and family-style serving

Key specifications

• Material: Enameled cast iron body with enameled lid
• Shape and size: Round form, approximately 20 cm diameter
• Finish: Cream color enamel exterior and interior
• Heat source compatibility: Suitable for gas, electric, ceramic, halogen and oven use
• Cooking method: Designed for slow cooking, stewing and braising; self-basting lid design

How to use

Preheat gradually on a medium heat to avoid thermal shock, then brown ingredients as required and reduce to low heat for slow simmering. Use moderate amounts of liquid since the lid condenses and returns moisture to the dish. The tajine can be transferred to a preheated oven to complete long braises; use oven-safe mitts when handling the hot cast iron. After use, allow the tajine to cool before cleaning; avoid sudden temperature changes to protect the enamel.

Recommendations

To maintain the enamel finish, avoid using metal utensils that may scratch the surface and clean with warm water, mild detergent and a non-abrasive sponge. For stubborn residues, soak with warm water to loosen food before washing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool. When storing, ensure the tajine is completely dry to prevent any risk of rust on exposed cast iron edges.
