Verkkokaapeli ShiverPeaks BASIC-S Cat7 S/FTP (S-STP) 5 m, RJ-45–RJ-45, punainen

ShiverPeaks BASIC-S Cat7 S/FTP (S‑STP) networking cable, 5 m, RJ-45 to RJ-45 in red is a shielded patch cable designed for stable high-speed wired Ethernet connections. The cable supports Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet links and features foil and overall shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference. Both ends are fitted with RJ-45 connectors with gold-plated contacts to ensure reliable signal transmission and corrosion resistance. The 5 m length offers flexibility for home, office or data-centre installations where a short to medium reach is required.

Advantages

The S/FTP (S‑STP) construction combines individual foil shielding around each pair with an overall braided shield to minimise crosstalk and external noise, improving signal integrity for high-frequency transmissions. Gold-plated RJ-45 contacts provide low contact resistance and long-term durability. The cable’s Cat7 specification supports higher bandwidth than lower-category cables, making it suitable for demanding network environments. The red jacket helps with visual identification in structured cabling setups.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, routers and network interfaces in home networks
• Wiring desktop PCs and workstations to office networks
• Patch runs within server racks and data‑center equipment
• High-speed Ethernet connections requiring shielded cabling to reduce interference

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat7 S/FTP (S‑STP)
• Length: 5 m
• Connectors: RJ-45 male to RJ-45 male
• Contact plating: gold-plated contacts
• Jacket colour: red
• Shielding: foil around each pair plus overall braided shield

How to use

Plug one RJ-45 connector into the network port of your switch, router or network interface and the other RJ-45 connector into the corresponding device. Ensure connectors are fully seated until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and keep it separated from power lines or strong electromagnetic sources to preserve shielding effectiveness. For patching in racks, use cable management accessories to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

For best performance, use this Cat7 S/FTP cable in shielded environments or where external interference is present. Avoid excessive bending and pulling; maintain the cable bend radius recommended for high‑performance Ethernet cables. When used in a mixed-cable installation, ensure shields are properly grounded at one end according to your local installation standards to maximise EMI protection.
