Verkkokaapelitesteri ShiverPeaks BS75617

The ShiverPeaks BS75617 network cable tester is a compact instrument for checking RJ-45 Ethernet cabling. It verifies continuity, identifies wiring faults such as open circuits, shorts and miswires, and displays results on an integrated LED indicator panel. Powered by a 9V battery, the tester is intended for field use by technicians and home users who need a quick functional check of patch cords, patch panels and in-wall cabling.

Advantages

The device offers a straightforward LED-based readout that makes interpretation of test results fast and intuitive without requiring complex setup. Its portable form factor and battery operation enable testing at different locations without external power. The unit’s focus on RJ-45 connectivity ensures compatibility with standard Ethernet cables used in LAN installations.

Suitable for

• Testing Ethernet patch cords and stranded or solid Cat5e/Cat6 cables
• Verifying connections on patch panels and wall sockets
• Locating wiring faults such as opens, shorts and pair swaps
• Quick on-site checks during installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting

Key specifications

• Connector type: RJ-45
• Indication: LED display for line and pair status
• Power source: 9V battery operation
• Functionality: continuity testing and wiring fault identification
• Form factor: handheld, portable tester

How to use

Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the main unit and the other end to the remote or secondary jack as applicable. Power the tester with a 9V battery and initiate the test according to the device’s switching or test button. Observe the LED indicators to determine continuity, pair order and presence of shorts or opens. For wall or panel testing, attach the remote unit where required to complete the circuit and read the corresponding LED pattern on the main unit.

Recommendations

Use a fresh 9V battery for reliable readings and store the tester in a dry, dust-free environment. When interpreting LED patterns, consult the included quick reference or manual to map indicator sequences to specific wiring faults. For critical installations, combine this tester with certification or length-testing instruments to confirm full compliance with cable standards.
