Virtalähde/muunnin MEAN WELL NID65-5, 65 W, 5 V, RoHS, 26×50,8×11 mm

MEAN WELL NID65-5 is a compact DC-DC non-isolation open-frame PCB mount converter that delivers a stable 5 V output at up to 6.5 A from a wide input range of 10.5–53 V DC. Packaged in a SIP form factor with dimensions of 26 × 50.8 × 11 mm, this 65 W adapter/inverter is designed for space-constrained installations and supports a Remote ON/OFF function for system control. Compliance with RoHS ensures restriction of hazardous substances for environmentally conscious applications.

Advantages

The converter offers high power density in a small SIP package, enabling efficient use of PCB area while providing up to 65 W output. Wide input voltage range and regulated 5 V output provide flexibility across battery-powered and vehicle systems as well as industrial DC rails. The Remote ON/OFF feature allows integration with system power sequencing and control. Open-frame construction is suitable for mounting directly on PCBs where airflow and cooling are managed by system design.

Suitable for

• Embedded systems and single-board computers requiring a stable 5 V rail
• Industrial control electronics and automation modules
• Battery-powered equipment and vehicle electronics with varying input voltages
• Space-limited designs and dense PCB layouts

How to use

Install the module on the PCB following the manufacturer’s recommended footprint and soldering guidelines to ensure mechanical stability and thermal contact. Connect the input supply within the specified 10.5–53 V DC range and verify polarity before applying power. Route the 5 V output to the target load, ensuring the load current does not exceed 6.5 A. Use the Remote ON/OFF pin to control the module according to system sequencing requirements. Maintain adequate board-level cooling and clearance around the open-frame converter to prevent overheating.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, limit continuous output current to the rated 6.5 A and design the enclosure or PCB layout to provide sufficient convection or forced airflow. Add input filtering and transient protection when connecting to potentially noisy sources such as vehicle batteries. Verify thermal performance under worst-case ambient and load conditions and follow PCB layout recommendations for grounding and decoupling to minimize noise and maintain regulation.
