Yhdyskäytävä Edimax APC500 10 100 1000 Mbit/s

The Edimax APC500 is a scalable wireless AP controller and gateway for mid-sized enterprise, education and hospitality environments. It provides centralized web-based management for Edimax Pro access points, supports Ethernet LAN speeds of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, rack mounting, LED status indicators and 8000 MB flash memory. The APC500 is designed to deploy and manage large wireless LANs with features such as zone planning, guest access control, captive portal customization and support for AP array architecture.

Advantages

The APC500 enables efficient centralized and remote management of Edimax Pro access points, reducing network downtime and simplifying troubleshooting through a dashboard, map view, traffic statistics and client lists. It supports scalable deployments of up to 128 managed APs, includes zone planning with Google Maps or custom floor plans, and provides built-in guest access management with customizable captive portal and bandwidth controls. The solution requires no license or cloud fees, minimizing total cost of ownership and allowing local, standalone operation without extra servers or specialist software.

Suitable for

• Mid-sized enterprises requiring centralized Wi‑Fi control
• Educational institutions with multiple access points and public guest needs
• Hospitality venues offering temporary guest Internet access
• Network teams seeking scalable, low‑TCO wireless management

Key specifications

• Manufacturer: EDIMAX, Model: APC500
• Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports: 3
• Supported data rates: 10/100/1000 Mbit/s
• Flash memory: 8000 MB
• Power: 12 V, 1.5 A; typical consumption 8 W
• Weight: 1.03 kg; Colour: Black; Rack-mountable

How to use

Install the APC500 in a suitable rack position and connect to the network via the RJ‑45 Ethernet ports. Access the controller through its web-based interface from a remote workstation to perform initial configuration: add and adopt Edimax Pro access points, organize APs into groups, configure RADIUS and WLAN group settings, and set up guest SSIDs and captive portal pages. Use the dashboard, map view or imported floor plans to place APs and run simulations. Apply firmware upgrades centrally and monitor traffic statistics and client lists to maintain network performance.

Recommendations

Deploy the APC500 in environments with a planned AP layout and ensure firmware is kept up to date; use zone planning with Google Maps or floor plans for optimal AP placement and enable guest bandwidth limits per SSID to maintain service for mission‑critical users.
