Yhdyskäytävä Grandstream Networks GXW4216 V2

The Gateway Grandstream Networks GXW4216 V2 is a VoIP gateway designed to connect traditional telephony equipment to IP networks. It supports common voice codecs including G.711, G.723.1 and G.726, and provides Ethernet LAN interfaces with data rates of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s. The device conforms to IEEE networking standards and supports data transfer up to 1 Gbit/s. Built-in AES-based security capabilities help protect voice traffic and signalling over IP links.

Advantages

The GXW4216 V2 provides multi-codec compatibility for interoperability with a range of voice systems and service providers. Its gigabit-capable Ethernet ports enable high-throughput bridging between analog/digital telephony and IP networks. Compliance with IEEE standards ensures predictable network behaviour, while AES-based encryption improves the security of voice communications. The unit's design focuses on stable protocol handling and reliable media conversion for mixed telephony environments.

Suitable for

• Integrating PBX or analog phone lines with IP telephony networks
• Service providers requiring codec flexibility and standard-compliant connectivity
• Enterprises upgrading legacy telephony to VoIP infrastructure
• Environments where encrypted voice transmission is required

How to use

Install the GXW4216 V2 in a network rack or on a stable surface and connect it to the LAN using an appropriate Ethernet cable. Configure IP settings and SIP/provider credentials via the device web interface or provisioning server according to your network plan. Map analog or digital telephony ports to SIP accounts or routing rules, select preferred codecs (G.711, G.723.1, G.726) for each call path, and enable AES-based security options where required. Test call routing and media paths to verify audio quality and connectivity.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use gigabit network connections between the gateway and core network devices, ensure firmware is kept up to date, and enable AES encryption for sensitive voice traffic. When integrating with existing PBX systems, document codec and dial-plan mappings to avoid interoperability issues.
