The Omnitronic 19-inch Front Panel Z-19U in black steel, 5U (5HE) provides a robust front surface for standard 19" rack systems. Designed to fit common rack hole spacing, this steel front panel offers a durable and professional appearance for audio, IT and broadcast installations. It serves as a fixed, protective and aesthetic element for mounted equipment, allowing easy integration into existing rack frames while maintaining a consistent front layout.

Advantages

The steel construction ensures mechanical strength and resistance to wear, while the powder-coated black finish reduces glare and fingerprints. Standard 19" mounting hole spacing guarantees compatibility with most rack equipment, and the 5U height accommodates multiple devices or larger front modules. The flat front allows for cutouts, labels or additional components to be mounted as needed, and the panel’s rigid design helps stabilize front-mounted gear.

How to use

Install the front panel by aligning it with the front posts of a standard 19" rack and secure it using appropriate rack screws or fasteners. Measure and mark any required cutouts or attachment points on the flat face before drilling or modifying the panel. Ensure that mounted devices have adequate clearance behind the panel and that ventilation and cable routing are not obstructed. For retrofit applications, remove any existing covers and transfer mounting hardware as necessary to maintain alignment.

Recommendations

Use corrosion-resistant fasteners for installations in humid environments and follow rack manufacturer guidelines for load distribution. When making cutouts or adding labels, protect the finish by masking surrounding areas and deburring edges to prevent paint chipping or metal damage.
