ACT 0,5 m Multimode 50/125 OM4 Polarity Twist kuitukaapeli LC-liittimillä

The ACT 0.5m Multimode Fiber Cable OM4 with LC connectors is a short-length optical patch cable designed for high-bandwidth network connections over multimode fiber. Featuring an OM4 grade core with a 50 µm diameter, this 0.5 meter cable supports high data rates and low insertion loss for reliable links in data centers, server rooms and enterprise network closets. The LC duplex connectors on both ends provide compact, standardized terminations for equipment with LC ports.

Advantages

The OM4 fiber core delivers improved modal bandwidth and extended reach compared with lower-grade multimode fibers, enabling higher throughput for short-reach applications. The compact LC connectors reduce connector footprint in high-density panels and provide consistent mating performance. The short 0.5 m length minimizes excess cable management in rack environments and helps maintain signal integrity by reducing bend and attenuation risks.

Suitable for

• Patch connections between switches and transceivers in data centers
• Server-to-switch fiber links in enterprise racks
• High-density fiber patch panels and MPO/LC breakout assemblies
• Short-reach 10G/25G/40G multimode networks where OM4 is specified

Key specifications

• Fiber type: Multimode OM4
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Cable length: 0.5 meter
• Connector type: LC to LC duplex
• Polarity: Twist (polarity-preserving twist arrangement)
• Typical applications: Short-reach high-bandwidth links

How to use

Inspect both LC connectors and the mating ports for dust or damage before installation. Align and insert the LC duplex connectors into the corresponding LC ports until they click into place, ensuring correct polarity for transmit and receive channels. Route the 0.5 m cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the minimum bend radius recommended for multimode fiber. For removal, depress the LC latch and gently pull the connector straight out to avoid stressing the fiber.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable in a clean environment; use dust caps when connectors are not in use. Use OM4 fiber for links where higher modal bandwidth is required and verify link budget with appropriate transceivers. For installations in high-density racks, plan cable routing to minimize strain and allow access to adjacent ports.
