Ajax Systems MotionCam Outdoor -valokuva tilauksesta Jeweller

The Ajax MotionCam Outdoor stands apart from conventional outdoor motion detectors by combining dual PIR sensing with a built-in camera that captures photo series on demand. This white model (39293.121.WH1) uses the proprietary Jeweller radio protocol to deliver reliable alarm signals and visual verification over distances up to 1700 meters in open space. Unlike basic motion sensors that only trigger alerts, MotionCam Outdoor provides photo evidence of what caused the alarm, helping to distinguish between a genuine intrusion and a false trigger caused by animals or moving foliage. With a weather-resistant IP55 housing and a wide operating temperature range, it is built for year-round outdoor use in demanding environments.

Highlights

• Integrated photo camera captures 1–5 images per alarm event, with resolution up to 640×352 pixels
• Dual PIR sensors with adjustable detection range from 3 to 15 meters and 90° horizontal / 80° vertical coverage
• Infrared illumination for night photos up to 10 meters, ensuring visual verification even in complete darkness
• Pet immunity up to 80 cm height and 20 kg weight, reducing false alarms from small animals
• Anti-masking system, accelerometer, and lid opening detection provide robust tamper protection
• Powered by four CR123A batteries with up to 3 years of battery life, eliminating the need for frequent maintenance
• Compatible with Ajax Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus, and Hub 2 (4G) control panels via secure Jeweller communication

In daily use

MotionCam Outdoor is designed for wall mounting at a recommended height of 0.8 to 1.3 meters, making it suitable for protecting entry points, perimeters, and outdoor areas of residential or commercial properties. When the PIR sensor detects motion, the device immediately sends an alarm signal to the Ajax hub via the Jeweller radio protocol, which operates in the 868.0–868.6 MHz frequency band. The hub then requests a photo series from the camera, which is delivered to the user's smartphone app within seconds. This photo-on-demand approach conserves battery power and bandwidth, as images are only captured when an alarm is triggered. The adjustable detection range allows installers to fine-tune the sensor to avoid unwanted triggers from public sidewalks or neighboring properties. Thanks to its IP55 rating, the device withstands rain, dust, and temperature extremes from -25°C to +50°C, ensuring continuous operation in harsh climates.
