AOC CBO SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J30M 10G aktiivinen optinen kaapeli 30 m

AOC CBO SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J30M 10G Active Optical Cable 30 m is a factory-terminated active optical cable designed to deliver 10 Gigabit connectivity between SFP+ ports without the need for separate transceivers. The 30 metre multimode fiber assembly integrates optical transceivers in the cable ends, offering a compact, power-efficient direct-attach solution suitable for server-to-switch, switch-to-switch and storage interconnects in data centres and campus environments. The cable supports low-latency links and simplifies installation by eliminating separate module handling.

Advantages

The integrated design reduces power consumption and rack space compared with discrete transceiver plus patch-cable combinations, while factory termination ensures consistent signal performance and reduced installation errors. The Active Optical Cable provides reliable 10G performance over multimode fibre at longer distances than copper DAC alternatives, with immunity to electromagnetic interference and lower weight for easier cable management.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• 10 Gigabit links between servers and switches within data centres
• Switch-to-switch uplinks and leaf-spine topologies
• Direct connections to storage arrays and SAN equipment
• Campus building interconnects where multimode fibre is deployed

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ compatible on both ends
• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC) with multimode fibre
• Length: 30 metres
• Latency: low-latency design suitable for high-throughput environments
• Power: integrated optical transceivers in cable ends for reduced host power draw
• Environmental: suitable for typical indoor data centre and campus installations

How to use

Install the AOC by plugging each SFP+ connector into compatible SFP+ ports on networking equipment or servers. Ensure that the connected ports support active optical cable modules and that firmware or port settings allow SFP+ AOC operation. Route the 30 m cable through cable trays or underfloor conduits as required, avoiding sharp bends and excessive stress on the connectors. No separate transceivers or patch cords are needed; the assembly is ready for immediate use once seated and the link is negotiated by the devices.

Recommendations

Confirm device compatibility with SFP+ active optical cables before deployment and verify link status after installation. Maintain bend radii within manufacturer guidelines, keep connectors clean and use dust caps when not connected to preserve optical performance.
