Asennussarja Noctua NM-I17XX-MP78 chromax.musta

The NM-i17xx-MP78 chromax.black is a SecuFirm2 mounting upgrade kit from Noctua that adapts CPU coolers with a 78mm mounting pitch to Intel's LGA1700 (LGA17xx family) platform. It preserves SecuFirm2's qualities of reliable fastening, correct contact pressure and straightforward installation, allowing compatible Noctua heatsinks to be reused on Intel’s latest Core series processors. The chromax.black version uses all-black parts to match Noctua’s chromax.black line.

Advantages

The kit provides a direct upgrade path for compatible Noctua coolers so users can mount existing heatsinks on LGA1700 systems without replacing the cooler. It follows SecuFirm2 design principles to ensure firm attachment and optimal contact pressure. The chromax.black finish offers a uniform black appearance for builds using Noctua’s chromax.black components.

Suitable for

• Upgrading Noctua CPU coolers with 78mm mounting pitch to Intel LGA1700 (LGA17xx family)
• Builders who want to reuse an existing Noctua heatsink on a new LGA1700-based system
• Systems where a black appearance is preferred (chromax.black series)

How to use

Verify that your Noctua heatsink is listed as compatible with the NM-i17xx-MP78 and that your motherboard/CPU is LGA1700 (LGA17xx family). Follow the included SecuFirm2 installation steps to remove the old mounting hardware and install the NM-i17xx-MP78 kit, ensuring correct orientation and torque for the mounting screws so that the heatsink achieves proper contact pressure. Consult Noctua's compatibility database and the kit’s instruction sheet for detailed step-by-step guidance.

Recommendations

Confirm compatibility before installation: because LGA17xx clearance specifications differ from other sockets, verify heatsink and motherboard compatibility using Noctua’s database. Owners of eligible Noctua coolers may request the kit free of charge by submitting proof of purchase for the cooler and an LGA1700 motherboard or CPU; alternatively, the kit is available from some resellers for a suggested service charge (approx. EUR/USD 8.90) and paid express shipping may be offered where available.
