AOC CBO SFP28-AOC-2M 2 m aktiivinen optinen kaapeli SFP28-porteille, 2 metriä

The AOC CBO SFP28-AOC-2M is a 2-meter active optical cable designed for devices with SFP28 ports. This ready-to-use direct-attach solution removes the need for separate transceivers by integrating optical transceivers and fiber into a single assembly. Optimized for short-distance, high-speed links, the cable is suited to connections between switches, servers and network interface cards that support SFP28, providing a compact and low-latency interconnect for rack and data centre environments.

Advantages

The integrated design reduces component count and simplifies rack cabling while maintaining the signal integrity expected from optical links. Active optical technology enables consistent high-speed transmission over the full 2 m length with lower weight and smaller bend radius compared with equivalent copper assemblies. Plug-and-play operation eliminates separate module installation, making deployment faster and reducing potential points of failure.

Suitable for

• Short-reach connections between top-of-rack switches and neighbouring switches
• Direct links between servers and switches in data centre racks
• High-performance NIC to switch connections requiring SFP28 interfaces
• Scenarios where improved airflow and reduced cabling bulk are required

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP28 on both ends compatible with SFP28 ports
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Length: 2 metres
• Data rate: suitable for 25 Gbps Ethernet links (SFP28-class performance)
• Form factor: direct-attach twin SFP28 connectors integrated into cable assembly
• Typical use: short-distance interconnects in rack and data centre environments

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port until it latches. Ensure devices are powered and configured to use the SFP28 interface; the cable is recognised as an optical link and does not require separate transceivers. For initial setup, verify link status through the switch or server management interface and confirm the expected data rate and lane alignment. To disconnect, press the latch on the SFP28 housing and withdraw the connector straight out to avoid stressing the cable or port.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, avoid tight bends near the connector ends and maintain bend radii recommended by the manufacturer. Use the AOC for intra-rack or adjacent-rack links where a 2 m length is appropriate, and confirm device compatibility with SFP28 modules and supported link speeds before deployment.
