BlueOptics AOC-S-S-25G-15M-BO InfiniBand-kuitukaapeli SFP28 15 m uros/uros

The BlueOptics AOC-S-S-25G-15M-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable SFP28 15m Male/Male is a 15-metre active optical cable designed for high-throughput, low-latency connections in data centers and enterprise networks. With SFP28-compatible male connectors on both ends, it supports 25G data rates and is intended for short- to mid-reach links between network equipment such as switches, routers and servers. The cable combines the signal quality of fibre optics with the convenience of plug-and-play connectivity for systems that accept SFP28 optical modules.

Advantages

This active optical cable provides consistent 25G performance with low signal degradation over its 15 m length and offers immunity to electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives. The integrated SFP28 male terminations simplify installation by matching common transceiver form factors and reducing the need for separate transceivers or patch panels. Its construction enables stable throughput and reduced heat generation in tightly packed rack environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting 25G-capable switches and routers within data center racks
• Interconnecting servers and storage arrays that support SFP28 ports
• High-performance computing clusters using InfiniBand fabrics
• Short- to mid-range uplinks and leaf-spine network topologies

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 male on both ends
• Length: 15 metres
• Supported data rate: 25 Gbit/s
• Cable type: Active optical cable (fibre optic)
• Typical applications: InfiniBand and 25G Ethernet interconnects

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 male connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on the network devices until a positive latch is felt. Ensure the devices are powered down or follow hot-plug procedures recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Verify link status and speed through device management interfaces and monitor for any link errors. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain minimum bend radius as recommended for optical fibres.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, avoid excessive bending, kinking or crushing of the cable and keep connectors free of dust. Use the cable within specified ambient temperature ranges for your equipment and confirm compatibility with device SFP28 port firmware. When planning rack layouts, allow sufficient slack and secure the cable to prevent strain on connectors.
