CBO AOC Avago SFP-AOC-10G-2M 10G aktiivinen optinen kaapeli, 2 m, SFP+

The CBO AOC Avago SFP-AOC-10G-2M 10G Active Optical Cable, 2 m, SFP+ is a factory-terminated active optical link in SFP+ form factor that enables 10 Gbps connections over a 2 metre distance. It is intended for direct connections between SFP+ ports on switches, servers and storage systems, delivering low latency and simplified deployment without the need for separate transceivers or fibre patch cords. The cable supports hot-plug operation and standard SFP+ electrical interfaces for immediate recognition by compatible networking equipment.

Advantages

This active optical cable provides consistent 10 Gbps throughput with low power consumption compared with older copper DACs at comparable distances. The integrated optical transceivers reduce component count and rack clutter by eliminating separate modules and patching, while the SFP+ form factor preserves compatibility with existing SFP+ ports. Plug-and-play operation minimizes configuration effort and short reach optimises cost and performance for intra-rack and adjacent-rack links.

Suitable for

• Rack-to-rack connections in data centres and server rooms
• Direct server-to-switch uplinks and top-of-rack switch links
• High-performance storage area network (SAN) interconnects within the same room
• Equipment consolidation where low latency and small form factor are required

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps (per link)
• Form factor: SFP+ integrated AOC
• Length: 2 metres
• Media: multimode active optical cable
• Interface: SFP+ electrical and optical signalling compatibility
• Latency: low latency design suitable for high-throughput applications
• Power consumption: low-power optics integrated in the cable ends

How to use

Insert each SFP+ connector end into the corresponding SFP+ port on the networking devices until it clicks into place. Ensure that connected devices support third-party SFP+ AOC modules and that ports are configured for 10 Gbps operation if manual configuration is required. No separate transceivers or fibre patching is needed; the cable is ready for immediate operation once both ends are seated and the devices negotiate the link.

Recommendations

Route the cable with gentle bends and avoid sharp kinks; maintain minimum bend radius specified by the manufacturer of the AOC to preserve optical performance. Use AOC links for short-range connections (such as within and between adjacent racks) and keep the cable away from sources of mechanical stress and strong electromagnetic interference. Verify compatibility with equipment firmware and vendor compatibility lists when deploying at scale.
