BlueOptics ET5402-AOC-50M-BO InfiniBand-kuitukaapeli SFP+ 50m uros/uros

The BlueOptics ET5402-AOC-50M-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable SFP+ 50m Male/Male is a 50-metre active optical cable (AOC) with SFP+ connectors at both ends. Designed for short-range high-speed links, this multi-mode AOC integrates optical transmitter and receiver modules in each connector and follows SFP+ form factor and MSA-compatible interfaces. It supports 10GBASE-SR class transmission for applications that require reliable 10 Gbit/s connectivity over a 50 m distance in data centre and network infrastructure environments.

Advantages

The cable offers plug-and-play SFP+ connectivity without separate transceivers, reducing installation complexity and conserving switch and transceiver inventory. As an active optical cable, it provides electrical isolation, low latency and consistent 10 Gbit/s throughput across the full 50 m length. Compatibility with commonly used SFP+ ports in networking and storage hardware enables straightforward integration into existing racks and patching schemes.

How to use

Ensure both devices have compatible SFP+ ports that accept AOC modules. Insert each SFP+ connector gently into the corresponding port until it latches, observing standard ESD precautions and avoiding excessive bending of the fibre cable. Once connected, verify link status on both devices and configure network settings as required for 10 Gbit/s operation. To remove the cable, release the SFP+ latch and pull the connector straight out to avoid damaging the port.

Recommendations

Use the cable for in-rack and adjacent-rack connections where a reliable 10 Gbit/s link is needed within 50 m. Avoid tight bends and exposure to mechanical strain; maintain recommended bend radius for multi-mode AOC assemblies. Verify device compatibility with vendor documentation when using vendor-specific link diagnostics or locking mechanisms.
