BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-15M-CO-BO InfiniBand-kuitukaapeli 15 m uros/uros

The BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-15M-CO-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable 15m Male/Male is an active optical cable (AOC) with SFP28 connectors designed for short-reach, high-speed interconnects. This 15-metre male-to-male cable supports 25 Gbit/s per lane operation in configurations consistent with 25GBASE-SR4 and InfiniBand physical-layer use, providing a factory-terminated multimode optical link for data centre and high-performance computing environments. The cable integrates optical transmitters and receivers in the SFP28 modules at both ends, allowing direct host-to-host or switch-to-switch connections without separate transceivers.

Advantages

The BlueOptics AOC delivers low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity over a 15 m multimode link while eliminating the need for separate SFP28 transceiver modules and patch cords. Its factory-terminated SFP28 male-to-male design simplifies installation and reduces potential points of failure compared with discrete transceiver plus fibre assemblies. Compliance with industry SFP28 mechanical form-factor and typical 25G short-reach signal characteristics ensures broad compatibility with devices that accept SFP28 AOCs for 25GBASE-SR4 or compatible InfiniBand links.

Suitable for

• Short-reach server-to-switch and switch-to-switch connections in data centres
• High-performance computing clusters using InfiniBand or 25G interconnects
• Storage systems and SAN interconnects requiring 25 Gbit/s links
• Environments where compact, low-power optics and simplified cabling are desired

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 male to SFP28 male
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC), multimode fibre
• Length: 15 metres
• Data rate: Up to 25 Gbit/s per link typical for 25GBASE-SR4/compatible InfiniBand
• Integrated transceivers: optical transmitter and receiver in each SFP28 module
• Form factor: SFP28 MSA-compliant mechanical dimensions

How to use

Insert each SFP28 module into the corresponding SFP28 port on the network devices until the module latches securely. Ensure both devices support SFP28 AOC modules and the intended 25G or InfiniBand link modes. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain on the connectors; maintain the specified 15 m length and avoid coiling tightly. After installation, verify link status and speed on the connected devices and run any required diagnostics or link tests to confirm proper operation.

Recommendations

Use the cable in rack and aisle layouts that minimise bend radius and mechanical stress. Verify firmware and hardware compatibility with your switch or host vendor before deployment and perform a functional test in your environment to confirm performance at 25 Gbit/s. Keep the dust caps on unused SFP28 ports and handle the AOC connectors by their housing to protect the optical interface.
