The Bosch laminate trim bit 2 608 628 346 is designed for precise trimming of laminate edges and similar sheet materials. Made with tungsten carbide cutting edges and a ball-bearing pilot, the two-flute cutter delivers clean, controlled cuts and enhanced durability for both professional and DIY use. With an overall length of 68 mm and a working length of 25.4 mm, this bit is suited to routing tasks that require accurate edge finishing on laminate and comparable abrasive boards.

Advantages

The tungsten carbide tips provide long-lasting sharpness and wear resistance when working with laminate and abrasive-faced boards. The ball bearing pilot ensures consistent guidance along the workpiece edge, reducing the need for templates. Two flutes offer a balanced cut and efficient chip removal for smoother edges and reduced burning.

Suitable for

• Trimming laminate countertop and worktop edges
• Finishing laminate flooring panels
• Edge profiling of abrasive-faced boards and HPL panels
• General routing tasks on thin sheet materials

How to use

Install the bit securely in a compatible router or trimmer collet, checking that the collet and shaft are clean and tightened to the manufacturer's torque. Set the router speed appropriate for laminate (moderate to high, depending on machine and thickness) and feed the tool steadily along the edge with the ball bearing pilot running against the workpiece. Make light passes rather than heavy cuts to reduce tear-out and extend bit life. Allow the cutter to cool between extended runs if necessary.

Recommendations

Use appropriate eye and hearing protection, and secure the workpiece before routing. Test the bit on a scrap piece of the same material to confirm speed and feed settings. Replace the bit if carbide edges become chipped or produce poor-quality cuts.
