CHAUVIN ARNOUX P01141627 CA 6683 LOCAT kaapelinhakulaite

The CHAUVIN ARNOUX CA 6683 LOCAT is a cable locator for tracing and identifying cables, wires, and metallic pipes in both voltage-free and live circuits. Its strongest capability is precise cable tracing and fuse/breaker identification with adjustable transmitter power and receiver sensitivity.

Advantages

The transmitter offers three adjustable output power levels, while the receiver provides eight sensitivity levels, allowing fine-tuning for different tracing distances and environments. Both units feature automatic shutdown after 10 minutes to conserve battery life. The receiver includes an LCD with bargraph, acoustic signal, and backlight for clear indication in various lighting conditions.

Suitable for

• Electricians tracing cables in walls, floors, and conduits
• Identifying fuses and circuit breakers in distribution panels
• Locating short circuits and breaks in wiring
• Tracing metallic pipes and other conductive paths

Key specifications

• Detection modes: voltage-free and live circuits
• Transmitter signal frequency: 125 kHz
• Max detection depth: 2 m (voltage-free), 0.4 m (live)
• Voltage range for live circuits: 0 to 400 V AC/DC
• Safety rating: CAT III 300V
• Power supply: 6 x 1.5V AAA batteries for each unit
• Operating temperature: -10°C to +50°C
• Ingress protection: IP40

Recommendations

For best results, start with lower sensitivity and increase as needed to avoid signal saturation. Use the included earth spike for single-pole tracing in voltage-free mode to achieve maximum depth.
